Chhath Puja 2025 Rituals in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
During Chhath Puja, believers stick to a strict sequence of rituals for four consecutive days. These rituals in Varanasi are normally performed on the Ganga’s numerous, congested ghats:
Day 1 (Nahay-Khay): The first day of Chhath Puja is for cleansing. People celebrating Chhath take a bath in the holy Ganga river and eat a pure (Satvik) meal, marking the beginning of cleansing.
