At least three people have lost their lives and four were injured after a blast in the furnace at a scrap factory under Harduaganj Police Station in Aligarh on Friday night.
In this scrap factory, ingots were being shaped by melting iron.
Teams from different departments are investigating the cause of the fire under the leadership of Additional District Magistrate Amit Kumar Bhatt.
Amit Kumar Bhatt said, “It was a scrap factory in which an explosion had taken place yesterday in which 3 people had died, 4 people were injured. The entire incident is being thoroughly investigated. The injured are being treated. The cause of the explosion and the cause of the incident are also being investigated.”
Earlier DM, Aligarh Vishak G Iyer said that the incident happened in Talanagari industrial area.
“A blast took place in the furnace of a scrap factory in Talanagari industrial area. Fire tenders were pressed into service and the fire is under control now. Our primary concern was to bring the fire under control and rescue the injured,” he added.
