Amritsar International Airport witnessed fierce commotion by passengers who has been stuck there for the last 24 hours. Passengers going to America are stuck at the airport for the last 24 hours. Passengers are alleging Airport administration for not being allowed to go out neither they are being given the correct flight information.
Sharing some videos, the passenger informed that more than 150 passengers have booked flights with foreign company Neos to go to Georgia, USA. All the passengers were checked in at 7 pm on January 4, but since then till January 5 night there is no information about the flight. The ground staff has been making excuses since January 4 that the flight is coming in 1 hour.
The passenger told that the flight was to take off at 12:50 am on the intervening night of January 4-5. Accordingly, their checkin was also done, but now neither any information regarding flight is clear nor any arrangements have been made for passengers to eat, drink and sleep by the Airport authority.
The staff said that the passengers were asked about booking hotels during the night, but the passenger refused to take this facility. On the other hand, the passengers completely rejected this statement of the staff.
According to the information received, the flight of Neos coming from America’s Georgia to Amritsar Airport could not land at 11.30 pm due to fog. The flight attempted to land, but the attempts kept failing. After which this flight was sent to Jaipur for landing.
The flight coming from America was offloaded to Jaipur due to bad weather, but the passengers of this flight are also stranded in Jaipur since last one day. Passengers blocked the main gate of Jaipur on Thursday morning. Passengers also accused the flight management of not providing clean rooms and not providing proper food.
Calling these statements baseless, Amritsar airport staff said that passengers were offered to get hotel rooms at night but they refused for the same. As per information, Neos flight coming from America’s Georgia to Amritsar airport could not land at 11.30 pm due to fog.
