UP Woman Throws Acid on Lover, Claims 12 Years of Blackmail

A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, identified as Varsha, attacked her lover Vivek with acid, alleging 12 years of blackmail. The two had been in a relationship for over a decade, despite Varsha being married. The incident occurred at a local restaurant where Vivek had asked her to meet. During their conversation, Varsha suddenly pulled out a bottle of acid and threw it at Vivek, causing him serious burn injuries. Both Varsha and a restaurant employee were also injured in the attack.

Following the incident, Vivek fled the scene, and police are now searching for him. Varsha has been taken for medical treatment, and authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack. Restaurant owner Deepak Garg described the chaotic scene, revealing that Varsha admitted to throwing the acid due to years of blackmail.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Varun Kumar Mishra stated that while Varsha is married, the full details of the case are still under investigation. He emphasized that both parties will be questioned, and appropriate legal action will follow. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and tracking Vivek through his phone and bike.
