A shocking incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district when a patient who was in an ambulance could not reach the hospital due to the negligence of a BJP leader, who was accused of blocking a road with his unattended car.
The family members of the deceased allege that the BJP leader, Umesh Mishra, threatened them with dire consequences when confronted about his casual act.
The patient, Suresh Chandra, suffered chest pain on Saturday. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Lucknow. District hospital doctors told them that it was a matter of a heart attack. But the ambulance stopped because BJP leader Umesh Mishra had parked his WagonR car on the road and left.
The ambulance remained stationary for more than 30 minutes, and in the meantime, the patient died inside the ambulance. When the BJP leader came back, he started using strong language with the deceased’s family members.
Those who were present on the spot shot the video, which showed Umesh Mishra, who was said to be the brother of BJP leader and Block Chief Ramkinkar Pandey, abusing the brother-in-law of the deceased and threatening to frame a police case against him.
He further added that the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police work as per his orders. A few police personnel were present on the spot, but they didn’t intervene. He then left in his car.
Meanwhile, the video went viral on social media, and people are criticising the police for standing like mute spectators.
