Gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu, who is believed to have settled in Britain, has reportedly claimed the responsibility of triple murnder at the parking lot of a café in Pinjore near here.
Delhi residents Vineet alias Vicky and his nephew Teerth and their friend Vandana alias Nia were shot dead in the wee hours of Monday.
Reports said Nandu claimed to have avenged the murder of his relative. He had said he only targeted Vickey and Teerth but Vandana just fell victim to the shootout.
Nandu sought revenge for the death of his brother-in-law, who was murdered nine years ago by Vineet’ elder brother. ‘Sangwan’s brother-in-law was killed in 2015 by the Ashok Pradhan gang. Vicky was Ashok Pradhan’s nephew and was one of the persons involved the murder of brother-in-law o Sangwan.
Police neither confirmed nor denied the theory. They also did not rule out the possibility of gang war as one of the motives. “We are exploring all possibilities and angles of motive behind the incident. It’s too early to comment on any development or claim,’’ said DCP crime Mukesh Malhotra who is monitoring the investigations.
The incident occurred on the night intervening Sunday and Monday when armed assailants had opened fire on Vicky, Teerth and Vandana who had just boarded a newly acquired SUV in the parking area of a cafe cum restaurant in Burj Kotian area of Pinjore.
The incident took place soon after the attending the birthday party of one Rohit Bhardwaj. A case of murder was registered on the complaint of Ashish, an eye witness and the one who rushed almost dead Teerth to Panchkula civil hospital.
Meanwhile, continuing with the investigations, the agencies have sent the mobile phones of slain victims for forensic cyber examinations.
According to sources, going by the forensic examinations of the vehicle Vicky had fallen out of the car while Teerth and Vandana were lying in the pool of the blood.
The assailants were so desperate that they had fired five shots on the car as well while fleeing.
As per the autopsy report, ten bullet shots were recovered from Vicky, four from Tirth and one shot from Nia. The assailants used .32 and 9mm pistols.
