The UGC-NET examinations scheduled for 2024, originally planned for June 16, have been postponed to June 18, as announced by UGC Chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar.
On X (formerly Twitter), the UGC Chairman conveyed that the decision was made after taking into account feedback from candidates. Additionally, an official notification will be issued regarding the postponement.
He wrote, “The National Testing Agency and UGC have decided to shift the UGC-NET from 16 June (Sunday) to 18 June 2024 (Tuesday) because of feedback received from candidates. NTA will conduct UGC-NET in OMR mode across India on a single day. NTA will soon issue a formal notification.”
It’s worth noting that the UGC-NET examination will be conducted exclusively in OMR-based mode. The question paper will be available in English and Hindi, except for language papers.
Moreover, the test will comprise two papers, both featuring objective-type multiple choice questions. There will be no intermission between the papers, and each paper will have a duration of 3 hours.
