Two gang members of the Goldy Brar gang, involved in a shootout with police in Delhi on Thursday, have been arrested. As per the sources, they say their target was comedian Munawar Faruqui.
Shootout on Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road
The shootout takes place on Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road on the Magenta metro line. Police identified the two culprits as Rahul of Panipat and Sahil of Bhiwani, who were linked to the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan crime syndicate.
According to reports, Rahul had committed a triple murder in Yamuna Nagar in December 2024 and had been escaping, as his identity had not been disclosed yet.
Recently, Rahul and Sahil, at the behest of gangsters Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan, had conspired to kill a social media influencer, Munawar Faruqui, and had done reconnaissance on their victims in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Information Related to Shooters
The police acted after getting information about the shooters being present in the vicinity of New Friends Colony. A trap was arranged on the Kalindi Kunj-Pushta Road, and at about 3 a.m., a suspicious bike was seen.
When policemen signaled the riders to halt, the perpetrators opened fire. When the police retaliated, both were hit in the legs and subsequently admitted to the hospital for treatment. The two attacked criminals have been hospitalized for treatment. Gunfire and a motorcycle in their possession were confiscated during the attack.
How Goldy Brar and Sidhu Moose Wala Are Connected
Gangster Goldy Brar’s gang members, who came into the limelight following the Sidhu Moose Wala murder, have performed attacks against celebrities in the recent past. Earlier this week, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested a man accused of threatening comedian and actor Kapil Sharma. The accused, identified as Dilip Choudhary, introduced himself as a member of the Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara gang.
Disha Patani House Attack
On September 12, two shooters on a motorcycle opened fire outside actor Disha Patani’s house in Bareilly. The Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang claimed responsibility for the incident in a social media post.
