Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud exuded confidence that the ruling Congress party is headed for a landslide victory in the municipal elections across the State.

Reviewing polling trends in 116 municipalities and seven municipal corporations, Mahesh Kumar Goud asserted that the Congress is poised to secure nearly 90 per cent of the urban local bodies. He said the voting pattern reflects strong public endorsement of the development and welfare initiatives undertaken by the government under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

“The trends clearly show that urban voters have placed their trust in the Congress government. People are satisfied with the welfare schemes and development programmes being implemented across Telangana,” he stated.

Mahesh Kumar Goud attributed the positive response to what he described as swift decision making, transparent governance and a firm commitment to social justice. He said the effective rollout of the government’s flagship “Six Guarantees,” free bus travel for women, farm loan waivers, the Indiramma housing scheme and special funds for urban development have significantly strengthened public confidence. He further noted that the government’s focus on improving urban infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, drinking water supply and sanitation has created a favourable sentiment among voters in municipal areas.
