The police remand of the six accused persons arrested in connection with the murder of jailed gangster Tillu Tajpuria inside Tihar Jail was extended for three days on Friday by Delhi’s Patiala House Court.
As the accused were physically produced, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Snigdha Sarvaria presided over the hearing in a closed courtroom. The court ordered the police to ensure the accused’s safety and security while in custody.
Accused Rohit Pathak, RHA Sikandar, and Ujjawal Puri appeared on behalf of the accused. After hearing the Delhi Police’s submissions, the court extended the police custody. After being held in police custody, the accused will be produced on Monday.
On the direction of the court, Delhi Police produced the six accused — Yogesh alias Tunda, Deepak Dabas alias Teeter, Riyaz Khan, Rajesh Bawana, Vinod alias Chavanni, and Ata-ur-Rahman.
The police requested a three-day extension for the accused to further investigate the case. An extension of remand was requested in order to recover Vinod and Ata-ur-Rahman’sblood-stainedclothes and conduct a sustained interrogation.
On May 9, the two accused were arrested and remanded in police custody.
