Tight security, CCTV surveillance at Mansa Devi Temple During Navratri fair

As the much-anticipated Navratri celebrations begin at the Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula, authorities have ramped up security with round-the-clock surveillance, 450 police personnel, and advanced safety measures. With lakhs of devotees expected to visit, police officials led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Himardri Kaushik are ensuring a safe and smooth experience for all attendees.
DCP Himadri Kaushik stated that, as in previous years, lakhs of devotees are expected to visit the Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula during Navratri, which begins on October 3. ‘To ensure the safety of the devotees, extensive security measures have been implemented. A gazetted officer has been appointed to oversee the entire security operation during the fair.’ Said DCP Kaushik
The DCP informed that seven police checkpoints have been set up in and around the temple for continuous 24-hour surveillance. ‘These checkpoints will monitor every individual and vehicle entering the area. Additionally, a help center has been established in the fair for addressing any issues faced by the devotees, with both male and female police officers stationed there. An assault group team has also been deployed to respond promptly to any potential bomb threats or other emergencies.’ said DCP Kaushik
The DCP further added that specialized units like the Anti-Sabotage Team, Door Frame Metal Detectors, Crisis Management Team, Striking Reserve, Tear Gas Squad, Bomb Disposal Squad, Ambulances, and Fire Brigade teams will be on standby. ‘Thousands of devotees are expected to visit the temple for blessings during the fair. In total, 450 police personnel have been deployed to ensure safety, with round-the-clock presence at all checkpoints.’ Said DCP Kaushik.
On this occasion, DCP Himadri Kaushik appealed to all devotees and the general public to exercise caution, especially given the large crowds during Navratri. ‘Visitors are advised not to tamper with any unattended items and to immediately report anything suspicious to the police. Devotees are also reminded to keep a close eye on their children.’ Said DCP Kaushik.
