The accused driver, Pramila Khumbachandani, was arrested by Khar police under sections 279 and 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rash driving and causing death by negligence.

Meanwhile, in Vikhroli, a mini truck collided with a bike, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old individual. The Vikhroli police registered a case against the truck driver, Baliram Chhotulal Yadav, under relevant sections of the IPC and arrested him.

In a separate incident on the Powai Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road, a collision between a bike and a dumper truck claimed the life of the two-wheeler rider, identified as Atul Kharose. The Powai police arrested the driver of the dumper truck, Ramzan Nadaf, after registering a case against him.

Earlier on Sunday, an elderly woman named Zubaida Sheikh lost her life after being hit by a speeding car driven by a doctor at Sion Hospital in central Mumbai. Zubaida Sheikh, who had been undergoing treatment for diabetes at the hospital, had recently been discharged and was visiting for follow-up.
