Mumbai Police reported receiving anonymous threats on Thursday regarding a bomb attack on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s car, according to a PTI report citing an unnamed official.

The threats were made through phone calls to the Goregaon and J J Marg police stations, as well as the control room at Mantralaya, the state government’s headquarters.

Following the threat, media reports indicate that security around Eknath Shinde has been tightened.

At present, Shinde is in Delhi alongside Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar for the swearing-in ceremony of BJP’s Rekha Gupta as Delhi’s Chief Minister. He is also expected to attend the NDA Chief Ministers’ meeting at the Imperial Hotel.
