Tesla has opened its first all-in-one Tesla Centre in Gurugram, marking a major step in the company’s India roadmap. The launch comes days after the Delhi High Court protected Tesla’s trademarks from alleged misuse by local firms. With this centre, Tesla aims to build a stronger presence in India’s electric vehicle market and boost customer engagement.

Tesla First All-in-One Facility in India

Tesla unveiled the Gurugram centre as a multi-purpose facility that brings retail, service, delivery, and charging under one roof. It is Tesla’s largest physical setup in India so far.

The centre allows customers to explore Tesla technologies in an experience-store format. Visitors can take test drives of the Tesla Model Y and access after-sales support. Tesla has also installed a V4 supercharger at the facility, giving EV owners access to faster charging.

The centre features one of Tesla’s biggest attractions — the Optimus Gen 2 humanoid robot. The robot prototype is also on display in Mumbai and Delhi. The addition is meant to showcase Tesla’s broader innovations beyond electric cars.

Haryana CM Hints at Future Tesla Manufacturing Plans

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the facility and called it a major milestone for the state. He said, “Haryana is not just a market but a manufacturing powerhouse.” He also expressed confidence that Tesla would eventually set up its first electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Haryana.

He said the state offers a strong ‘ease of doing business’ environment and already has a large base of automotive and technology industries. The remarks signal Haryana’s intent to compete with other states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, which are also courting Tesla for manufacturing.

Big Relief From Court For Tesla Before Launch

The centre’s opening follows a key legal win for Tesla Inc. On November 24, the Delhi High Court restrained local firms from using Tesla’s registered trademarks and logos.

Justice Tejas Karia said Tesla had built significant goodwill in India and found a clear prima facie case of infringement. The court said it “is not relevant” whether Tesla currently sells products in India; the company still owns the registered marks.

Tesla filed the case seeking a permanent injunction against Tesla Power India Pvt Ltd and others, accusing them of using the “Tesla” name on electric scooters and energy products. Tesla Power India argued that its mark was inspired by Nikola Tesla and that its business included “500 distributors and 5,000 dealers in India, employing more than 1,000 people, either directly or indirectly.”

However, the court noted that Tesla Inc “is one of the biggest manufacturers of EVs,” and also works extensively with battery technologies, while the defendants were “producing batteries for electric two-wheeler and electric four-wheeler, among other batteries.”

Tesla Signals India Commitment Ahead of Policy Push

The new centre appears to be a strategic move ahead of India’s upcoming EV policy that may offer incentives to global EV makers willing to invest in manufacturing. Tesla’s timing suggests it is preparing its supply chain and customer ecosystem before making a larger announcement.

Industry analysts say this could be the start of an aggressive India rollout, including possible manufacturing, local partnerships, and a wider EV lineup.
