Telangana Police Crack Down On Fake Currency Racket, Arrest Six

Police have arrested six individuals in connection with a counterfeit currency racket in the Koyya Gutta area under the Banswada Town police station limits in Telangana’s Kamareddy district, officials said on Saturday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Kadapatri Rajagopal Rao, Hussain Peera, Kolavar Kiran Kumar, Kesrole Ramdas Goud, Radhakrishna, and Ajay Eashwar Lokhande.

The arrests were made during a vehicle check conducted by Banswada Police at Koyya Gutta. Authorities intercepted a car carrying three of the accused — Kadapatri Rajagopal Rao, Kolavar Kiran Kumar, and Kesrole Ramdas Goud — and discovered counterfeit currency worth ₹30 lakh in the vehicle.

The investigation revealed that the arrested individuals were part of a larger gang involved in printing and circulating counterfeit currency across the country. The gang comprised eight members from various states, including Telangana, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Maharashtra.

According to police, the gang’s modus operandi involved printing fake currency in Hyderabad and distributing it in different parts of the country.

During the operation, police seized counterfeit currency worth ₹56.9 lakh, along with computers, printers, paper cutters, and other equipment used in the production of the fake notes.

The six arrested individuals have been remanded to judicial custody, while efforts are underway to apprehend two more accused, Kamlesh and Sukhram, who remain at large.

Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
