Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, held a meeting with Hyundai Motor officials in Seoul, South Korea, on Monday to attract investments aimed at boosting the state’s economy.
During the discussions, CM Reddy highlighted Telangana’s focus on securing major investments from global giants. He noted that Hyundai Motor Company had planned to invest in a car testing facility in Telangana through its subsidiary, Hyundai Motor India Engineering Pvt Ltd. (HMIE).
Reddy praised Telangana’s industry-friendly policies, forward-looking vision for world-class infrastructure, and streamlined permission processes, which have attracted top-tier companies like HMIE to do business in the state.
Following the meeting, Hyundai, through its Indian subsidiary HMIE, announced plans to establish a large Mega Test Center in Telangana. This facility will include an automated test track and a state-of-the-art car manufacturing unit, including electric vehicles (EVs). The Mega Test Center is expected to attract other affiliates and suppliers, creating both direct and indirect employment opportunities.
Additionally, HMIE is expanding its operations by renovating and modernizing its existing engineering center in Hyderabad, which will create more jobs for the Indian and Asia-Pacific markets.
HMIE expressed its commitment to India, emphasizing the importance of the Indian market and its dedication to developing cutting-edge products and technologies for Indian customers. They also thanked CM Reddy for the opportunity to develop advanced testing facilities, underscoring HMIE’s commitment to India and CM Reddy’s vision for a sustainable future for Telangana.
