Swimmers Mix Yoga With Unexpected Twist, Watch Viral Video

Swimmers of various age groups gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday to celebrate yoga ahead of the International Day of Yoga on June 21. The serene waters of the river provided a unique backdrop as enthusiasts combined their aquatic skills with ancient yoga practices.

A Unique Celebration Captured on Video

The event, captured in a video shared by ANI on X, showcased participants holding posters proclaiming ‘Yoga Day,’ illustrating their commitment to the upcoming global observance. The video, which quickly garnered 13.1K views, highlighted the diversity among the participants, who ranged widely in age and background. Swimmers can be seen gracefully executing various yoga poses under the guidance of instructors, blending physical exertion with meditative calm.

Anticipation Builds for Global Celebrations

As June 21 approaches, anticipation builds for widespread celebrations of yoga’s profound impact on health and wellness worldwide. This year, the main International Day of Yoga celebrations will be held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the event. AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav confirmed the details on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Modi’s Visit to Jammu and Kashmir

It will be Modi’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after being sworn in as the prime minister for his third term. Modi is scheduled to arrive in Srinagar on June 20 and will lead the International Day of Yoga celebrations the next day. Preparations are underway, with arrangements for the program already in place. An official in Srinagar mentioned that hundreds of people, including many sportspersons, are expected to participate in the event.

Training and Participation

The participants for the event in Srinagar have been shortlisted and are being trained in various ‘asanas’ that are expected to be performed by the Prime Minister. This meticulous preparation underscores the significance of the event and the high level of coordination involved.

Previous Visit to Srinagar

Prime Minister Modi’s last visit to Srinagar was in March this year when he addressed a public rally at the Bakhshi Stadium. His upcoming visit for the International Day of Yoga celebration marks another important occasion, reflecting his continued engagement with the region.

The convergence of swimmers at the Triveni Sangam and the preparations in Srinagar both signify the growing enthusiasm for yoga, showcasing its universal appeal and its ability to bring people together in pursuit of health and wellness.
