Spouses of G20 leaders to explore National Gallery of Modern Art

Spouses of G20 leaders who are actively participating in the upcoming Summit will have the opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of India by visiting the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in New Delhi. The city witnessed the arrival of numerous world leaders on Friday, all converging in anticipation of the G20 Summit scheduled for September 9 and 10.
The visit to NGMA promises to be an enriching experience for the spouses of G20 leaders as it will showcase a diverse array of artifacts sourced from renowned museums in Chennai, Kolkata, and Chandigarh. This curated collection not only reflects the rich tapestry of Indian culture but also highlights the country’s exceptional craftsmanship. The G20 Summit, a gathering of world leaders and representatives from international organizations, will unfold at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam over two days. In an earlier announcement, G20 Chief Coordinator Harsh Vardhan Shringla underscored the positive economic impact of India’s G20 presidency on the nation. He emphasized that the G20 meetings and activities have embraced extensive participation from various segments of society through “Jan Bhagidari” (public participation) from across the nation. Shringla stated, “We would have received a total of 100,000 visitors for our G20 presidency from over 125 nationalities, and for many of them, this has been a discovery of a new India. G20 presidency will bring economic benefits to our country and to our citizens.” His remarks highlight the role of this global event in showcasing India’s economic and cultural diversity. One notable achievement of India’s G20 presidency is the transformation of the Digital Payment Infrastructure. Initially, this innovative system was relatively unknown, but it has now gained widespread recognition and acceptance. G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant, commenting on this accomplishment, noted, “One of the takeaways of India’s G20 presidency is the revolutionization of Digital Payment Infrastructure.”
