SpiceJet will operate new flights to Patna from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Additional flights will also connect Patna with Delhi and Mumbai. The airline has further strengthened connectivity to Darbhanga with extra flights from Delhi and Mumbai.

These new services complement existing SpiceJet flights to Patna from Delhi, Mumbai, and Guwahati and to Darbhanga from Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. The additional flights began operating in phases from October 10, catering to the festive travel rush.

“The festive season holds immense significance for millions of our passengers, and we are delighted to make travel home for Chhath Puja and Diwali more convenient and accessible. With enhanced connectivity to Patna, Darbhanga, and Ayodhya, SpiceJet continues to play a key role in bringing people closer to their loved ones for celebrations that matter most,” said Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer, SpiceJet.

Additional Flights Ahead of Bihar Festivals – Air India

Earlier, Air India and Air India Express announced 166 extra flights to Patna to meet the rising demand during Diwali and Chhath Puja. The Tata-owned carrier will operate 114 additional flights between Patna and multiple cities, while Air India Express will run 52 extra flights connecting Patna to Delhi and Bengaluru.

These flights began operations on October 15 and will continue until November 2. The additional services complement Air India’s 42 weekly flights to Patna from Delhi and Mumbai and 14 weekly flights from Air India Express connecting Delhi and Bengaluru to Patna.

Festive Travel Surge in Bihar

The festive season typically sees a sharp increase in travel demand, as families return home for celebrations. Airlines are responding by enhancing flight connectivity and flexibility to meet passenger needs.

The combined efforts of SpiceJet and Air India ensure that travellers have more options, better convenience, and the ability to plan their trips efficiently during peak holiday periods.

Airlines Focusing on Regional Connectivity

This year, both SpiceJet and Air India are paying extra attention to connecting secondary cities in Bihar, such as Darbhanga and regional hubs. By enhancing connectivity beyond just Patna, airlines are making travel accessible to more people, helping promote regional tourism and supporting economic activity during festive periods.
