Smriti Irani Thanks Supporters, Pledges Service After Amethi Defeat

In a closely watched battle for the Amethi constituency, Kishori Lal emerged victorious in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, securing 524,892 votes and defeating BJP’s high-profile candidate, Smriti Irani, by a substantial margin of 161,266 votes. This outcome signifies a dramatic shift in a region historically known as a stronghold of the Indian National Congress, signaling a significant change in the political landscape.

Smriti Irani, the incumbent Union Minister, graciously accepted the results and expressed her gratitude to the BJP party workers and supporters. “I express my gratitude to all the BJP party workers and supporters, those who have worked in the service of the constituency and the party with utmost dedication and fidelity,” said Irani. She also extended her thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, highlighting the accomplishments of their administrations. “Today, I am grateful to PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath that their governments have completed the pending works of 30 years in just 5 years. I congratulate those who win. I will continue to be in the service of the people of Amethi,” Irani added.

Watch:-

Irani’s defeat marks a notable moment in Amethi’s political history. Known for ending Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s long-standing dominance in the constituency with her victory in 2019, Irani’s tenure saw significant developmental projects aimed at improving infrastructure, healthcare, and education. Despite her efforts, the electorate favored Kishori Lal in this election, reflecting changing voter sentiments and dynamics.

Kishori Lal’s victory not only reshapes the political scenario in Amethi but also sets the stage for the future direction of the constituency. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the results from Amethi are a reminder of the ever-changing nature of Indian democracy and the importance of addressing local issues and concerns.
