Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman urged Rajasthan voters not to back the Congress party, citing allegations of corruption. She emphasized the need to re-elect PM Narendra Modi for the state’s development. Sitharaman stated that the Congress is adept at making election promises but fails to address public concerns once in power.
At a press conference in Jaipur she stated, “Don’t come back, this was the slogan by the people of the state that’s why their government lost power… I request all the voters of the state that don’t vote for the corrupt Congress party… PM Modi has to be made the PM again for the development of the state,”
“Only to make promises for elections, mislead the public, get votes and then forget about it, the Congress party is an expert in this matter… Talking to the public, raising their issues, and after raising them, sitting in power and then forgetting (people issues), this is the attitude of Congress, not ours,” She also added.
She highlighted the BJP’s track record in winning parliamentary seats in the state and urged voters to support Modi for continued progress. The upcoming general elections will include bypolls for 26 Assembly seats in Rajasthan, with over 96.8 crore eligible voters across polling stations. Rajasthan’s 25 parliamentary constituencies will be contested in two phases, with the first phase scheduled for April 19 and the second phase on April 26.
