Sexual Exploitation Allegations Against CDLU Professor

A big revelation has been made in an anonymous letter accusing a professor of Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) of Sirsa in Haryana of sexually exploiting 500 female students. The letter came from Khairpur Post Office located on Hisar Road in Sirsa city. 4 letters have been received from this post office since 2023.

The university received the first letter in June 2023. In which the female students accused the professor of sexual exploitation. After this the Internal Investigation Committee of the University investigated it. After investigation, the committee gave a clean chit to the professor.

2 letters were sent to the Governor of Haryana in November and December 2023. CDLU was marked by the Governor’s Office to investigate the allegations made in the letter. During that time, when the university committee investigated, the allegations against the professor were found to be baseless.

Now, after the letter became public in January 2024, SIT is investigating the allegations of sexual exploitation made by the girl students against the professor. The SIT recorded the statements of male and female professors of the concerned department on Saturday. During this period many professors did not appear before the SIT.

University Registrar Dr Rajesh Bansal said that the university has received such complaints many times before. The internal committee investigation found the allegations to be baseless. Now the complaint pertains to 500 girl students. The police and the university committee are seriously investigating this matter.

On the other hand, due to the winter holidays, students are not coming to study at CDLU. There is silence in the department against which the professor has been accused. The girls will come only after the holidays are over. Only after this, the SIT will be able to record the statements of the girl students.

On January 4 (Thursday), 2024, a 2-page anonymous letter came to light. In which girl students studying in a department at Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) accused one of their professors of sexual exploitation. It was claimed in the letter that 500 female students were fed up with the obscene activities of the professor. It was said that the letter would be sent to Haryana CM, Governor, Home Minister, Chancellor and National Commission for Women.

There was a stir as soon as the matter of the letter came to light. The next day on Friday, Sirsa’s ASP Deepti Garg arrived for investigation. He said that we had come to the university and got complete information about the matter. Soon the truth about the anonymous letter will be revealed. Citing the investigation, he refused to say anything on how much truth is there in the allegations made in the letter. SIT was later formed to investigate the matter.
