Security Tightened at J&K Hospitals Amid Nationwide Protests by Medical Professionals

In a swift and decisive move, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has ramped up security at government hospitals across the region, prioritizing the safety of doctors who have been at the forefront of ongoing nationwide protests by medical professionals.

Following the recent horror in a Kolkata hospital, which sent shockwaves through the medical community, 20 armed police personnel will now be deployed at Jammu government hospitals, with 50% of the force comprising female officers. This heightened security measure comes as doctors across the country, including those in Jammu and Kashmir, have taken to the streets, demanding better protection and working conditions.

An Emergency Code System will also be installed, enabling hospitals to maintain 24/7 communication with local police stations, ensuring a rapid response in the event of any security threats. In addition, more CCTV cameras will be installed on each floor, with continuous monitoring to bolster the safety of medical staff and patients alike.
