Security measures tightened for Haryana CET, including biometric entry

The second day of Group D Common Eligibility Test (CET) in Haryana, with an expected 6.87 lakh candidates taking the exam in 798 examination centers across both shifts. Entry into the exam centers for the first shift started at 7.30 am. On the first day, Saturday, 6.88 lakh candidates were to appear in the examination, but only 4.23 lakh turned up. 2.65 lakh candidates remained absent. Overall, there was only 62% attendance in the paper on the first day.

While identifying the faces of the candidates at the examination center in the second shift, 12 candidates who had come to take the examination in place of others were caught on the spot. Of these, 6 candidates were caught in Hisar, 1 in Ambala, 1 in Faridabad, 2 in Gurugram, 1 in Sirsa and 1 in Mahendragarh. 13,75,151 candidates have registered themselves for the examination. 3.5 lakh candidates were expected to appear in the morning shift, but only about 60% students appeared in the exam.

More than 20 questions related to Haryana were asked in the paper. It was asked in the paper who is the Forest Minister of Haryana. Apart from this, questions have also been asked about some schemes of the Central and State Government. Apart from this, some questions were related to the schemes of the state and central government, like in the paper it was asked under which scheme of Haryana, farmers are provided financial assistance. Questions were also asked about the schemes of the Centre.

To facilitate the CET exam, government and non-government schools in all 22 districts have been kept closed. To prevent cheating in the exam, Section 144 has been imposed around all the examination centres. Besides, arrangements have been made for free travel in roadways buses for the transportation of candidates. For the first time, if Munna brothers are unable to enter the exam, arrangements have been made for biometric and face authentication at the examination centres. Candidates were given entry into the centers only after identification.

Candidates are being identified at the examination centers through technologies like biometric and face authentication. This was arranged by HSSC in both the shifts on Saturday, although at some places candidates were given admission without it. Earlier, on the instructions of the CM, instructions were given to deploy jammers at the examination centres.
