The Supreme Court of India directed YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia to surrender his passport and seek prior permission from the court to travel abroad amidst the ongoing controversy regarding Samay Raina’s YouTube show, India’s Got Latent.
Besides this, if more FIRs are filed in Jaipur on similar charges against him, then he cannot be arrested.
Dhruv Rathee Criticizes the SC Judgement
Reacting to the ruling, fellow YouTuber Dhruv Rathee criticized the court’s decision on X, formally known as Twitter, terming it as one “height of stupidity.” He questioned whether Allahbadia had been treated like a criminal because of the nature of the allegations.

The court strongly condemned the behavior under consideration, stating that fame cannot act as an immunity from prevailing societal norms. It censured the use of offensive language, stating that this uncovers a distorted and perverted mind.
Justice Kant Statements
Justice Kant dubbed the statements in the YouTube show as emanating from a “perverted mind.” He condemned the statements for their antagonistic influence on families and society and emphasized that the law is based on justice and any threats posed to Allahbadia will be tackled on legal grounds.
Allahbadia now has turned to the SC, seeking relief from multiple FIRs that had been connected against him for what he termed were unnecessary remarks made during the show. He also argued that all complaints needed to be combined into one case, and the court is currently hearing the instance regarding these claims.
