Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, President of the Youth Akali Dal, strongly condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for exploiting Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s parole for political gains. Jhinjer called this a blatant attempt to influence voters ahead of the Haryana assembly elections, labeling it a “black spot” on India’s democracy.
“The Sikh community is outraged,” Jhinjer said. “Our Bandi Singhs, who have completed their sentences, languish in jails while Ram Rahim, a convicted rapist, receives parole every few months. This is unfair treatment and discrimination against Sikhs.”
In a Facebook live stream, Jhinjer questioned Panthak leaders Baljit Singh Daduwal, Manjinder Sirsa, and Harmeet Kalka about their silence on Ram Rahim’s repeated parole. “The BJP’s actions reek of desperation, exploiting Ram Rahim’s influence for electoral gains,” Jhinjer said. “Meanwhile, our Bandi Singhs suffer, denied parole despite completing their sentences. This is a travesty of justice.”
Jhinjer criticized the silence of Panthak leaders, saying, “They claim to represent Sikhs but remain silent as Ram Rahim, a convicted criminal involved in the beadbi of our Guru Sahibs’ Saroop, receives parole and roams free.”
He urged Sikhs to raise their voices against this unfair justice system, saying, “We stand with Ram Rahim’s victims and our Bandi Singhs. Together, let’s fight for our community and our Bandi Singhs.”
