The sacred “Brahmanda Purana” describes the importance of Saphala Ekadashi through a dialogue between Lord Krishna and King Yudhisthira.
According to ancient texts, a devotee who observes this fast with complete devotion is believed to gain more merit than performing 1000 Ashvamedha Yagas, including 100 Rajasuya Yagas.
This day is considered powerful for changing bad luck into good fortune. It helps remove sorrow, life’s obstacles and negative circumstances. Saphala Ekadashi is believed to help devotees achieve their goals, desires and ambitions, while also granting inner peace and spiritual calm.
What Are the Glories of Saphala Ekadashi?
Saphala Ekadashi, also known as Pausha-Krishna Ekadashi, is dedicated to Lord Narayana, who is worshipped by observing a strict fast.
According to Lord Krishna, those who sincerely observe Ekadashi become very dear to him. Devotees should worship the Lord by offering fresh fruits at the correct time and meditate upon Him as the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
On this sacred day, devotees may also offer incense, ghee lamps and aromatic substances as part of their worship.
Benefits of Observing the Saphala Ekadashi Fast
Observing a fast on Saphala Ekadashi is believed to make a person virtuous and pure. It is said to remove sins committed in both past and present births.
This vrat brings the blessings of Lord Vishnu, along with happiness, peace and prosperity in the family. Scriptures state that fasting on this day gives the reward of a thousand years of penance.
