Stand-up comedian Samay Raina is unfazed by the uproar over his YouTube reality show, ‘India’s Got Latent.’ A complaint had been made against Raina panelists Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija for obscene remarks on the show. While social media uproar raged, Raina is now working full-time on his stand-up tour, Unfiltered, in North America.
On Sunday, Smay Raina performed at Moore Theatre in Seattle, US. Balraj Ghai, producer and judge of India’s Got Latent, shared pictures on Instagram, where Raina is on stage performing, having fun with friends, and playing chess backstage.
Ranveer Allahbadia’s Question Sparks Backsplash
The uproar erupted when Ranveer Allahbadia, as a judge on India’s Got Latent with Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, posed an outrageous question to a contestant.
“Would you rather watch your parents do s** every day or join them to finish it once and for all?” Ranveer Allahbadia asked, leaving social media users aghast. Even Raina reacted with, “What the f***?”
The question sparked extreme backlash, compelling Allahbadia, 31, to offer a public apology on X. He shared, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry… My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry.”

FIR Filed Against Show Panellists
Meanwhile, the police have lodged an FIR against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and India’s Got Latent for allegedly using abusive language on the show. The reality show has repeatedly faced criticism for its objectionable content and unparliamentary remarks in performances of poetry, magic, comedy, singing, and dance.
Despite the growing controversy, Samay Raina is going ahead with his stand-up tour, seemingly unfazed by the backlash.
