Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after a six-day recovery from the knife attack he received during an apparent burglary at his Bandra residence. The actor should return home soon after finishing the discharge procedure.

His wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, was already by his side but left before he was released. Khan has been advised complete bed rest for a week and is not allowed visitors to prevent infection.

Take a look at Saif Ali Khan leaving the hospital:

The incident, which shocked the entire nation, came when an intruder stabbed Khan six times in his house. One of the injuries occurred near his spine, missing it by just 2 mm, with spinal fluid leaking out. Actor Khan underwent surgery to repair damage and additional plastic surgery for the injuries to his arm and neck.

Eliyama Philip, who was in charge of taking care of Khan’s kids, Taimur and Jeh, recalled the ordeal. She first woke up due to noise at 2 am and initially thought that Kareena had gone to Jeh’s room to check on him. However, after noticing something wrong, she witnessed the intruder and tried to intervene. The robber, with a wooden stick and a long Hexa blade, began to hit her and demanded money. “I want money,” he said, demanding “one crore” in English.

When she screams, Saif and Kareena rush out and catch the intruder, who attacks Saif. The intruder beats up Khan despite the injuries, escapes, and then the family runs to the top floor as the intruder flees.

The police took into custody, under the cover of Bijoy Das, the Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam Shehzad for the attack. He was taken to Khan’s residence later to reconstruct the crime in connection with the investigation ongoing.
