YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav narrowly escaped harm after unidentified attackers opened fire outside his Gurugram residence early Sunday. The incident occurred around 5:30–6 a.m. in Sector 57, according to police.
Three bike-borne assailants discharged over two dozen bullets at Yadav’s house, hitting the ground and first floor. Fortunately, no one was injured. Yadav, who resides on the second and third floors, was away from Haryana at the time. His caretaker and family members were inside during the attack.
Hours after the shooting, an Instagram post surfaced claiming responsibility. The post, allegedly by the ‘Bhau Gang,’ included two gun illustrations and read, “BHAU GANG SINCE 2020.” It linked the attack to Yadav’s promotion of illegal betting apps.
The alleged post stated, “Today, the bullets that were fired at Elvish Yadav’s house were fired by us, Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritoliya. Today, we have introduced ourselves to him. He has ruined many homes by promoting betting. And all these social media bugs, we are warning that if anyone is found promoting betting, they can get a call or a bullet at any time. So all those who are into betting, be ready.”

The gang is reportedly led by Portugal-based fugitive Himanshu Bhau. Police, however, have not officially confirmed any link between the online claim and the actual attack.
Police Investigation Underway
Gurugram Police confirmed the incident in a statement: “Today, on 17.08.2025, at around 5:30/6:00 a.m., some unknown persons fired at a house under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sector-56, Gurugram. No person has been shot in this incident.”

Investigators have collected forensic evidence and are reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas. Multiple police teams remain stationed to track down the attackers. Legal action is being initiated, and further investigation will proceed once Yadav’s family files a formal complaint.
Elvish Yadav’s Controversial Past
This is not the first controversy surrounding Yadav. The YouTuber faces ongoing scrutiny over allegations of using snake venom as a recreational drug at parties he reportedly organized. In May, the Allahabad High Court rejected Yadav’s petition challenging the chargesheet and criminal proceedings in connection with the case.

His father stated that no threats were received before the shooting. Police officials confirmed that the three attackers are currently absconding.
