Along with the royal bath, the tradition of breaking the dal in Manimahesh Yatra will also be performed by the Shiv disciples of Sanchui at the same time. The district administration and the temple trust committee have completed all preparations for the royal bath.
Rules have been set for Manimahesh Yatra. Firstly, reliable medical certificates are required. Secondly, carry umbrella, warm clothes, and shoes. Also, follow the routes prescribed by the administration.
Every year large number of devotees reach Manimahesh for the royal bath and take a dip in the Dal Lake. In view of this, Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has decided to run additional buses. For the on-demand bus facility, numbers of Chamba and Bharmour HRTC officials have been issued.
Manimahesh Yatra began on Janmashtami on September 6 with Chhota Nhaun, which will be completed on September 23. Every day five to seven thousand devotees come here to take a bath in Dal Lake. Two people from Punjab have died during this journey. Most of the devotees complete Manimahesh Yatra on foot. But some devotees also complete this journey by horses or heli taxi. To go from Hadsar to Manimahesh on horse, you will have to pay around Rs 4400, while to go by heli taxi, you will have to pay Rs 9000. Devotees can also complete this journey on foot.
