On Tuesday morning, Bengaluru city police detained cine actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and nine of his associates in connection with the murder of a youth named Renuka Swamy from Chitadurga.

The police stated that the detentions were related to the murder of S Renuka Swamy, a 33-year-old assistant in a medical shop in Chitradurga, who had recently gotten married. Allegedly, the deceased had posted offensive remarks about a film actress on social media.

City police commissioner B Dayananda confirmed the actor’s detention, stating, “The victim has been identified as S Renuka Swamy, 33, of Chitradurga. The body was recovered from the drain in Kamakshipalya, the western part of the city.”

Swamy was reportedly kidnapped from Chitradurga, killed in Kamakshipalya, and his body was found in a drain with physical injuries on Sunday morning. The body was sent for an autopsy, and the forensic report confirmed he was murdered.
