A man has been taken into custody by Delhi Police on suspicion of raping his 65-year-old mother twice in the Hauz Qazi neighborhood. The woman, who described the experience and accused her son of physical and sexual abuse, filed a thorough complaint, which led to the arrest.

According to police officials, the accused locked his mother in a room, forced her to remove her burqa, and brutally assaulted her. He reportedly claimed that he was “punishing” her for an alleged extramarital affair from decades ago.

Victim Narrates Ordeal

The woman, who lives with her husband, the accused son, and her younger daughter, revealed that her elder daughter resides nearby with her in-laws.

On July 17, the victim, along with her husband and younger daughter, left for Saudi Arabia to perform a religious pilgrimage. While they were away, the accused repeatedly called his father, demanding that the family return to Delhi.

“He said that we should come to Delhi because he wanted my husband to divorce me, claiming he had discovered that I had extramarital relationships with other men when he was a child,” the victim said in her police statement.

The family returned to Delhi on August 1. That night, the accused allegedly forced his mother to remove her burqa, locked her inside a room, and beat her severely. He told his father that she had been “spoilt.”

First Assault Reported on August 11

Police said the first incident of rape took place on August 11. The accused insisted on speaking privately with his mother, locked the room, and allegedly raped her.

“He said that he was punishing her for her previous conduct even as she pleaded that she was his mother,” an investigating officer said, citing the victim’s statement.

Shaken by the attack, the woman left her home and stayed temporarily with her elder daughter. However, she later returned when the situation at home worsened.

Second Assault on August 14

The complaint revealed that the second assault occurred on August 14. The accused entered the victim’s room at night and raped her again while she was asleep.

The woman told her younger daughter about the horrifying attacks the following day. She was urged by her daughter to go to the police and file an official complaint.

A senior officer said, “We have taken the victim’s statement and registered a case. A thorough investigation is underway. Forensic and medical examinations are part of the process.”

Widespread Shock in the Community

The shocking case has sent ripples across the Hauz Qazi area. Locals expressed disbelief over the crime, terming it “beyond imagination.”

The police have assured the victim and her family of complete security. Officials said further legal action will follow once evidence collection is complete.
