The powerful explosion of the car near Red Fort Metro Station on November 10, 2025, which killed several people, sent shockwaves in the capital, denting its sense of safety. While security forces are on high alert, the government has not announced any citywide shutdown of schools or offices.
Emergency teams quickly sealed off the area while patrols were being intensified across the capital to avoid further risks. According to authorities, the incident, serious as it is, does not warrant the suspension of daily public operations at this moment.
The explosion comes after a troubling spate of fake bomb threats sent to Delhi schools over the past few months. Several institutions were evacuated or closed temporarily, only for investigations to reveal the warnings were false. Although unrelated to the Red Fort blast, these incidents have amplified public unease.
The Delhi Education Department has directed schools to remain cautious and follow security protocols closely. Many private institutions had already extended their winter break due to the severe cold, adding another layer of disruption to the city’s education schedule.

So far, no orders have been issued by the authorities to shut schools however, temporary shutdowns or a move to online classes could be enforced depending on the outcome of the investigation that points to a wider threat or if public safety so warrants.
Parents are advised to monitor updates from schools and government advisories. For now, Delhi functions with caution, its citizens treading a thin line between normal routine and increased security alerts.

While government and private offices are functioning normally, they have all come under increased vigil. Police patrols have been increased around all major commercial centers, transport terminals and public offices.
Workers have been advised to be more vigilant and to report anything suspicious, while companies have conducted fresh drills to ensure emergency preparedness. The daily movement of people across the Capital remains unaffected, except for some traffic diversions and checking at various intersections in central Delhi.
