The probe into the deadly blast at Red Fort on November 10, 2025, is fast gaining momentum with a series of key arrests by the National Investigation Agency.
The officials are describing the group as a highly organized “white-collar” terror module operating across multiple states, including Delhi, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Amir Rashid Ali was the first person arrested directly in the Red Fort blast case. The NIA arrested Ali, identified as a Kashmir resident and plumber by profession, on Sunday.
His crucial link to the attack was that he owned the explosive-laden vehicle used by the suicide bomber, Umar un-Nabi.

Red Fort Blast: NIA Unravels Tech Expertise Link
A day after Ali’s arrest, the NIA arrested another key accused, Jasir Bilal Wani, alias Danish, on Monday. Wani, 20, a student of Bachelor of Science from Qazigund, Anantnag, is alleged to have given “critical technical support” to the module.
The NIA claimed his role included modifying the drones and attempting to fabricate rockets, thereby substantially enhancing the potential strike capability of the group.
Wani was picked up near the house of another recently arrested accused, Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, in a clear indication that the conspirators were operating in close proximity.
Interestingly, though Wani was a close associate of the suicide bomber, Umar un-Nabi, and had reportedly been brainwashed to conduct a suicide attack for over a year, officials said Wani had backed out.
He reportedly withdrew because his family’s poor financial condition and religious prohibition barred him from carrying out the suicide mission.

Coordinating Communication Using an Encrypted Channel
The ongoing probe has started peeling back the layers of this tightly knitted network to reveal some sophisticated operational security.
According to sources, members of the group reportedly communicated primarily through an encrypted Signal messaging channel, which Umar un-Nabi had created about three months before the attack, naming it with special characters to avoid detection.
This encrypted hub is believed to be the module’s central coordination platform, with at least four known members: Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie, Adeel Ahmad Rather, Muzaffar Rather (Adeel’s brother), and Molvi Irfan.
The investigation is focusing on how this network managed regimented responsibilities and maintained a steady, organized movement of weapons across different regions, indicating a high level of planning and coordination for their terror activities.
The swift arrests and uncovering of the encrypted network underpin the resolve of the NIA to dismantle this serious threat.
