UP ATS Conducts Raids After Delhi Blast Lucknow (Source: X)
In the aftermath of Monday’s deadly blast in Delhi, security agencies have intensified their operations across Uttar Pradesh. Acting on intelligence inputs, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) carried out coordinated raids at several locations, including the residence of a Lucknow-based doctor, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
According to Lucknow Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Amol Murkut, the ATS searched the home of Dr. Parvez Ansari, located in the Muttakipur locality near IIM Road under the Madiyaon police station area. The raid took place on Tuesday morning over suspected links between Dr. Ansari and two other doctors Dr. Muzammil and his alleged girlfriend Shaheen Shahid who were arrested in Faridabad by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday.
When the ATS team arrived, Dr. Ansari was reportedly not at home. “The ATS team broke into the house and conducted a thorough search. Locals told police that Dr. Ansari stayed alone and led a very isolated life,” said a police official familiar with the operation. During the search, officials seized several electronic devices, including mobile phones, for forensic examination to check for any communication or connection with the Faridabad-based suspects.
A senior ATS officer revealed that the Jammu and Kashmir Police had earlier tipped off the UP authorities following the arrest of Dr. Adil Ahmad, a resident of Anantnag, from Saharanpur on November 7. Dr. Adil had joined a hospital on Ambala Road in Saharanpur in 2024 after completing his MBBS and MD from a medical college in Anantnag.
His name reportedly surfaced during a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) probe after posters of the banned terror group appeared in Anantnag when he was on leave for his nikaah (marriage) in October. Subsequently, he was detained for questioning.
During further investigation into the suspects’ hideouts, the police recovered a large quantity of suspected ammonium nitrate from a rented house in Faridabad. “The house did not appear to have been used for residential purposes, only such items were stored there,” said an ATS officer. The property was reportedly rented by the doctor arrested from Saharanpur.
The multi-agency investigation continues as authorities work to uncover possible links between the recent Delhi blast and the individuals under scrutiny in UP, Faridabad, and Jammu & Kashmir.
