Ratan Tata, the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, was a globally revered businessman, admired by the business world and beyond. However, not many are aware that he once had to create a curriculum vitae for a job at the very company he would later lead for years, transforming it into a trillion-dollar empire.
In an interview, Tata shared an anecdote about how he was initially offered a job at IBM, but his mentor, JRD Tata, was displeased with his decision. JRD asked him to submit his biodata and work for the Tata Group instead. At the time, Ratan Tata didn’t have a biodata prepared.

Recently, Ratan Tata was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital after his health deteriorated, and he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit. He passed away on October 9, 2024.
