‘Ram Rajya’ is all about ensuring every citizen’s access to welfare schemes without discrimination: Uttar Pradesh CM

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the concept of ‘Ram Rajya,’ often described by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as good governance, is essentially about ensuring every citizen’s access to welfare schemes without any discrimination.

Speaking at an event organized by the Food and Civil Supply Department and Rural Development Department at Lok Bhavan, CM Yogi highlighted the transformative impact of technology in governance, stating that it is bringing rapid changes in the lives of the common people. He praised the government’s reforms aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, noting that they have increased transparency and reduced corruption.

Inaugurating 1100 Annapurna Bhawans and launching Electronic Weighing Scale-linked e-POS machines at 79,000 fair price shops across the state, CM Yogi underlined the government’s commitment to providing foodgrain to every poor person, a stark contrast to the scenario before 2014.

He credited technology such as e-POS machines and Electronic Weighing machines for bringing extensive reforms in ration distribution, which has not only addressed the issue of hunger but also eliminated corruption. CM Yogi highlighted the role of the technology-based food distribution system in monitoring the ration distribution process from FCI warehouses to ensure it reaches the allocated quota shop, a change reflecting the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Development for All).

He also spoke about the permanent structures of Annapurna Bhawans, which will provide ration and other essential services like affordable generic medicines and household items. CM Yogi emphasized the government’s sensitivity towards people’s safety and prosperity, highlighting its commitment to poverty alleviation without discrimination. He criticized earlier governments for lack of vision, contrasting their approach with the current government’s focus on constructive development projects and employment generation.
