Rajeev Shukla Trolled
Posting a photo of himself gifting the book to the king at St. James's Palace, Shukla penned, "Presented my book scars of 1947 to King Charles at st.James palace his house. He took lot of interest in content of the book."
The encounter was during an event organized for India's men's and women's cricket teams.
Take a look:
Internet users were quick to react with sarcasm and humor. A person joked, "Few are aware of the fact that Rajiv Shukla penned this book in 1947 and King Charles was born in 1948."
Another said, "Sir, I still recall my grandfather recounting your bravery from the 'Non-Cooperation Movement' in the 1920s. And look where you are today - here to launch your book in front of the same people whose protest you opposed.". Blessed to see your eternal journey.
Another one chimed in, "Only you can retrieve Kohinoor." Someone else made an observation, "Donating the book which bears scars bestowed by the British to the British King. Rajeev Shukla doesn't play with fire, he is the fire!!"
For those unaware, Rajeev Shukla is vice president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Chhattisgarh representative in the Rajya Sabha. Before joining politics from 2000 on, Shukla was a journalist.
