Rajasthan polls: AAP releases fourth list of 26 candidates

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled its fourth list of 26 candidates for the forthcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections, demonstrating their strong commitment to the state.

The party’s strategic selection of candidates covers key constituencies, such as Ajmer North, Ajmer South (SC), Udaipur Rural (ST), Bhilwara, Sapotra (ST), Dhariawad (ST), Ghatol (ST), Garhi (ST), Jhunjhunu, Hanumangarh, and more. With this move, AAP is gearing up for a competitive presence in the state elections scheduled for November 25, with the results to be declared on December 3.

In parallel, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its fourth list of candidates for the same elections. This list comprises two candidates, with Ram Niwas Meena contesting from the Todabhim (ST) constituency and Swaroop Singh Khara from the Sheo constituency.
The BJP is actively working to strengthen its position in Rajasthan and challenge the incumbent Congress, following the 2018 elections, which saw Congress secure 99 seats while the BJP held 73 out of 200 in the state assembly.

On the other hand, the Congress has revealed its fifth list of five candidates, including two sitting MLAs. The list features the re-nomination of Rooparam Meghwal in Jaisalmer and Saleh Mohammed in Pokaran. Additionally, the party has put forward three candidates to contest BJP-held seats: Vidhyadhar Choudhary in Phulera, Hangami Lal Mewara in Asind, and Dhiraj Gurjar in Jahapur.

The remaining candidates for the remaining 44 seats are expected to be announced shortly. The deadline for filing nominations is November 6.
