Rajasthan: Deputy CM Diya Kumari Presented State Budget For 2024-25, Key Takeaways

Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, who oversees the finance portfolio, presented the state budget for 2024-25 in the Assembly on Wednesday. Earlier, she had presented a Vote on Account (Interim Budget) on February 8. Kumari highlighted that the BJP government in the state is focused on achieving 10 resolutions aimed at transforming Rajasthan into a $350 billion economy.

Among the significant announcements was a proposal to allocate Rs 100 crore for a corridor at Khatu Shyam Temple and the establishment of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Board.

“Like Kashi Vishwanath, a corridor will be built for the Khatu Shyam Ji Temple. It will cost around Rs 100 crore. Rajasthan Heritage Conservation Board will be formed to develop archaeological places and heritage sites,” said Diya Kumari on Wednesday.

8. A defense manufacturing hub will be established, and a new data center policy will be introduced.

9. Plans include purchasing 500 roadways buses and 300 electric buses, with 800 buses to operate under a service model.

10. Electricity connections will be provided to 2,08,000 households in the next two years, with over 25 lakh smart meters installed.

11. In the first phase, 67 Pink Toilets costing Rs 17 crore will be constructed, along with Biopink toilets for women in urban areas.

12. A Rs 200 crore Amrit Global Technology and Application Center will be built in Jaipur.

13. The Lakhpati Didi Scheme aims to bring 15 lakh women into the Lakhpati Didi category.

What CM Said On Rajasthan Budget

Speaking about the budget, CM Bhajanlal Sharma said, “We have presented the Budget 2024-25. Normally the government presents Budget for 5 years, but there should be a vision. PM Modi has brought a vision until 2047.
We are committed towards providing electricity and water. The Budget also addresses issues of farmers, youths, women, industries. Our vision is ‘Viksit Rajasthan’. We are committed to provide benefits to 8 crore population of the state.
We have fulfilled the 45 per cent promises made in the manifesto. We will fulfil all the promises. We will provide government jobs to one lakh people in one year. We will open sports colleges.”
On July 9, State Finance Minister Diya Kumari stated that the budget has been formulated with consideration for all segments.
“A double-engine government has been formed in the state, so we will try our best to live up to the expectations of the people. Good work has been done on the budget. There are big announcements for every section,” she had said.
