Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar reacted sharply to Congress leader Shashi Tharoor’s remarks on exit polls, suggesting Tharoor start an English training institute and Rahul Gandhi pursue a gym career. Speaking to ANI, Chandrasekhar stated that the Congress party has individuals proficient in language but unfit for serving people’s interests.
Chandrasekhar, the NDA candidate from Thiruvananthapuram, faces tough competition from Tharoor. Despite BJP’s historical struggle in Kerala, Chandrasekhar remains optimistic about the party’s prospects, especially with exit polls favouring the BJP’s third consecutive win.
Commenting on exit polls, Chandrasekhar expressed satisfaction with the predicted mandate for Prime Minister Modi’s third term, emphasizing its historical significance and reflecting public endorsement of his governance.
In contrast, Shashi Tharoor dismissed exit polls, asserting confidence in the INDIA bloc’s projected seat count of 295. He criticized certain exit polls for their inaccuracies, particularly regarding Kerala’s electoral dynamics, expressing certainty in disproving the exit poll projections.
Tharoor remained steadfast in his belief that the exit poll numbers would not reflect the actual outcome, both nationally and in Thiruvananthapuram constituency. Exit polls suggested a substantial lead for the BJP-led NDA, even speculating the possibility of surpassing the “400 paar” goal set by BJP leaders.
The BJP-led NDA’s projected improved performance, as indicated by exit polls, anticipates gains in various states currently under other party rule. Notably, exit polls suggested an enhanced vote share for the NDA in Tamil Nadu, potentially securing several seats in the state.
However, the final outcome remains to be seen, with both the BJP-led NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc vying for electoral victory in the Lok Sabha polls.
