Rahul Gandhi Engages with U.S. Lawmakers, Indian Diaspora on Final Day of U.S. Visit

Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, concluded his three-day visit to the U.S. with a series of high-profile meetings on Capitol Hill, including interactions with several U.S. lawmakers. On the final day of his visit, Gandhi attended meetings with think tanks, the National Press Club, and members of the Indian-American community, strengthening political and cultural ties.

Rahul Gandhi Addresses Indian Diaspora: “People No Longer Fear BJP or PM Modi”
During his address to the Indian diaspora in Herndon, Virginia, Rahul Gandhi continued his criticism of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections had reduced the fear of Modi among the people. “Something has changed after the elections. The fear is gone,” Gandhi remarked. He emphasized that the BJP’s efforts to spread fear through agencies and pressure on small businesses had dissolved after the election results.

Engaging with Students and Think Tanks
On Tuesday, Gandhi interacted with students at Georgetown University and University of Texas in Dallas, discussing India’s current political landscape. He also targeted the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stating that while the RSS believes in “one idea” of India, Congress embraces the “multiplicity of ideas,” allowing every citizen their space regardless of caste, religion, or language.
