Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Hold Roadshow in Wayanad, Kerala

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra conducted a roadshow in Kalpetta, Kerala, ahead of filing her nomination for the Wayanad Assembly by-polls. The event drew a large crowd of party leaders and supporters, marking her electoral debut.

Joining Priyanka at the roadshow was her brother, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The siblings were seen waving and greeting enthusiastic party workers and supporters throughout the event. Notable attendees included Telangana Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, and Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal.

During the roadshow, Priyanka shared a heartwarming moment with a young girl, highlighting her connection with the local community. Prior to the event, she signed her nomination papers at a resort, accompanied by local leaders and in the presence of key figures including Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Following the roadshow, Priyanka Gandhi is set to address a public meeting at Gudalai, near the KWA Office in Kalpetta. The Wayanad seat was vacated by Rahul Gandhi, who retained the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency.

In the upcoming by-polls, Priyanka Gandhi will face BJP candidate Navya Haridas and Left Democratic Front’s (LDF) candidate Sathyan Mokeri, with Haridas being a two-time Kozhikode Corporation councillor. If elected, Priyanka will become the third member of the Gandhi family to serve in Parliament.

Before entering active politics in 2019, Priyanka Gandhi was responsible for managing the Gandhi family’s traditional strongholds in Amethi and Rae Bareli. She was appointed as AICC General Secretary for eastern Uttar Pradesh in 2019 and later took on the role for the entire state in 2020. The Wayanad by-poll is scheduled for November 13.
