An IT engineer from Pune, Madhav Sadhurao Tiketi, aged 38, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his three-year-old son, Himmat Madhav Tiketi, after a domestic brawl with his wife. Madhav Tiketi, who was out of a job for many months, fought with his wife on Thursday.He abducted his son with him after the altercation, and his wife reported to the police that the child was missing later.
Investigations revealed that CCTV cameras recorded Madhav leaving with his son but coming back alone. The police found that Madhav had bought a knife and blade from a shop after leaving home.He took his son to a remote location, slit the throat of the boy, and left the body in the bushes.
Madhav was subsequently discovered inebriated at a hotel, and the body of the boy was recovered. Madhav Tiketi is charged under sections 103(1) and 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). This killing follows close on the heels of the sad demise of Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput, who was allegedly murdered by his wife along with her lover in Meerut.
