Pune Porsche Case: Minor’s Parents In Police Custody Until June 5

The Pune court ordered the parents of a 17-year-old boy, who is reportedly connected to a Porsche car accident, to remain in police custody until June 5. This decision comes in a case concerning the destruction of evidence.

The couple is under investigation for allegedly tampering with the minor’s blood sample after the Porsche car accident on May 19 in Pune, Maharashtra. The incident resulted in the tragic deaths of two IT professionals.

On June 1, Shivani Agarwal, the mother of the minor, was apprehended following the disclosure that the boy’s blood samples had been substituted with hers. Earlier implicated in a related case, real estate agent Vishal Agrawal, the boy’s father, had been taken into custody by the police for purportedly participating in evidence tampering.

The Agarwal couple was presented before a holiday court in Pune, Maharashtra by the police, who requested their custody extension until June 5, a request that was granted. The police informed the court of the couple’s alleged conspiracy to destroy evidence linked to the accident.

According to the police, the couple visited a government hospital and tampered with the minor’s blood samples. Their lawyer, Prashant Patil, mentioned that the police had conducted a search of their residence and retrieved CCTV footage from the premises.

They are charged under IPC section 201, which involves concealing evidence related to a crime and is considered a bailable offense. Therefore, Patil suggested they be remanded to judicial custody.

Alongside the minor’s parents, the police have apprehended his grandfather, Surendra Agarwal, on allegations of abducting the family’s driver and coercing him to shoulder responsibility for the accident, among other accusations.

Other individuals detained by the police include two physicians from the state-operated Sassoon General Hospital and a staff member, accused of exchanging the blood samples of the underage boy. The police have filed three distinct cases related to the car crash, comprising an FIR concerning the accident itself and another against the bar that purportedly provided alcohol to the minor.
