Fresh revelations have emerged in the Greater Noida dowry murder case. Investigators disclosed that Vipin Bhati, the prime accused in the killing of his wife Nikki, was also booked in 2024 by another woman named Preeti for allegedly assaulting her. The complaint was filed at Jarcha police station.
Officials said Vipin tried to “cover up” after Nikki had caught him with Preeti. This incident is now being seen as part of a larger pattern of his troubled relationships.
Extramarital Affair Allegations
Media reports suggest Vipin had a history of extramarital affairs. Last year, he was reportedly spotted driving in Delhi with another woman when Nikki’s family members confronted him and physically assaulted him on the road. A video of the incident later went viral on social media.
Kanchan, Nikki’s sister who was also married into the same family, alleged that Vipin was “involved with several women.” She recalled one incident in Molarband, Delhi, where he was caught again. According to her, Nikki had discovered Vipin’s repeated affairs, which created growing tensions between the couple for over a week before the tragedy occurred.
The Crime and Arrests
On August 21, Vipin allegedly set Nikki on fire following disputes linked to a dowry demand of ₹36 lakh. The horrific act took place in front of Nikki’s minor son and her sister Kanchan. Police confirmed that Vipin, along with his father, mother, and brother, have all been arrested in connection with the case.

Father Demands ‘Bulldozer Justice’
Bhikari Singh Payla, Nikki’s father, has called for strong action from the Uttar Pradesh government. Speaking to CNN-News18, he urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to demolish the properties of the accused. “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should take bulldozer action against the houses of the accused only then will we get justice,” he said. Payla added that a Women’s Commission team was expected to visit soon, and he would present his demands directly to them.
Social Media Dispute and Family Struggles
The grieving father also addressed claims that Nikki’s social media activity had angered Vipin. “Everyone is active on social media she was too. Even her mother-in-law used to post there,” he said.
He further revealed that he had helped his daughters set up a beauty parlour to support their livelihood, but Nikki’s in-laws were unhappy with her efforts. “I had helped my daughters open a beauty salon, but the in-laws were still not happy. Still, my daughter silently endured everything,” he added.
