Priyanka Gandhi holds rally in Jabalpur to launch Congress’ MP election campaign today

After praying near the banks of the Narmada river on Monday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will launch the Congress’s campaign for the year-end Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections from Jabalpur, a party leader said.

The Mahakoshal region of the state, which has a considerable population of tribal voters, is centrally located in Jabalpur. In the eight-district division of the 2018 Assembly elections, the Congress won 11 of the 13 seats designated for Scheduled Tribes, with the Bharatiya Janata Party taking home the remaining two.

“Priyanka ji will launch the party’s campaign and Sankalp 2023 by addressing a public meeting at Shahid Smarak at around 11.15 am. She will land here at around 10:30am and head to Gwarighat to pray to Narmada river,” Jabalpur mayor and Congress’ city chief Jagat Bahadur Singh earlier told the sources.

She would decorate a statue of Rani Durgavati, who reached martyrdom fighting the Mughals, en route to the rally site, which is eight kilometres away, he said, adding that the gathering will draw at least two lakh people.

“People in Mahakoshal area or Jabalpur division having eight districts feel neglected by the BJP. We did well (last time) in the area. This time around we are going to sweep the polls,” he claimed.

A lot of preparations have been made for the stay of Anchor-Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi in Jabalpur. She will address the public meeting in Jabalpur’s Shaheed Smarak i.e. the vast ground of Gol Bazar.

Extensive preparations have been made by the Congress for this meeting of Priyanka Gandhi and a seating arrangement for 20 to 25 thousand people is being claimed in the huge pandal.

National General Secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi is going to launch the election campaign from Jabalpur situated on the banks of Narmada, so all the stalwarts of the party have reached Jabalpur and every effort is being made to make Priyanka Gandhi’s program a success.
