He is a very popular saint in Vrindavan, guiding devotees to spiritual paths and righteous living. Videos related to devotion and the right path by Premanand Maharaj are circulating on social media with much attention. Many devotees also visit his ashram at Vrindavan.
Premanand Maharaj starts at 2 AM from Shri Krishna Sharanam on Chhatikra Marg and walks to the Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram on Parikrama Marg. Thousands of devotees wait along the road, making it necessary to erect barricades because so many people throng the site.
But today, a message was issued that Padayatra by Premanand Maharaj would not take place after all. It was declared because of his health conditions. The other reason mentioned for cancellation was the inconvenience caused to the local residents. During the Padayatra, devotees often start playing drums and music systems in celebration, creating noise, especially at night. This noise disturbed local residents, particularly those working in nearby areas. They protested with placards, saying, “The excessive noise makes it difficult to sleep, which disrupts the entire day and causes delays for working individuals.”
Following this, the Ashram officially announced suspension of the Padayatra on Thursday, stating Maharaj’s health and increasing crowds as the reasons. Members of the Kelikunj Ashram clarified that no one is invited specifically to the Padayatra, and loud chanting or singing of hymns is also discouraged.
For his darshan, you have to visit Vrindavan to go to the ashram “Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj” right opposite the Bhakti Vedanta Hospital on Parikrama Marg. To see Maharaj, you have to register the day before by 9:30 AM. Registration will allow you to participate in satsang, kirtan, private conversations, and darshan.
