A pregnant woman traveling on a KSRTC bus on May 29 experienced labor pains and required urgent medical attention. With the assistance of the bus staff, doctors, and local individuals, she successfully delivered a baby girl on the bus, which was en route from Thrissur to Kozhikode.
Video footage of the incident has emerged online, showing the woman being attended to and assisted in giving birth on the bus staircase. Following the delivery, a female staff member stepped outside the bus with the newborn, and the event was met with joyous reactions from the staff and passengers.
The woman went into labor after the bus had passed the Peramangalam area. Upon learning of her condition, the bus driver promptly changed course towards Thrissur and alerted Amala Hospital for assistance. Doctors from the hospital attended to the woman on the bus itself and later transferred her and the newborn to the hospital for further care.
Hospital officials stated that the delivery was successful, without any complications, and both the mother and the baby are in stable and good health.
